Biography

After graduation from the Moscow state conservatoire, Irina Reynard became a soloist at the Helikon Theatre in Moscow.

 

She almost immediately became one of the leading soloists for the mezzo soprano repertoire and has numerously performed such roles as Carmen, Lyubasha in Tsar’s Bride, Lyubava in Sadko, Olga in Eugene Onegin, Sonyetka in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Ruggiero in Tancredi, and others.

 

She is currently enriching her repertoire to Angelina in La Cenerentola, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Sevilla, and other roles for a coloratura mezzo. In addition she also expands her repertoire with "trouser-roles" as her voice and her physical appearance perfectly fits Rossini/Donizzetti/Bellini.

 

Irina performed numerously at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, International Festival of Music & the Performing Arts and at the Belcanto fund Festival "Viva Opera" in Moscow.

 

Irina Reynard constantly performs at the Helikon Theatre in Moscow, as well as accompanies the theatre on tours to Lebanon, China, France, and Holland and most recently to Brazil.

 

She is the Second Prize winner of the Glinka Competition and First Prize winner of the International Independent Opera Competition in Poland.

 

She has performed with Maestro Alberto Zedda, Maestro Kent Nagano, Maestro Mikhail Pletnev and Maestro Vladimir Fedoseyev.
